More about the bags and how they are made:
"A co-op of artisans in Brazil’s Ceara State, work together to create these amazing purses from recycled woods. The men cut, sand and finish the wood. The women string the wood together and attach it to the fabric lining. The resulting bags are modern, exciting and one of a kind.
In the tiny town in an under-developed state, there is little in the way of employment. There is no internet service and the telephones function only via radio connections. By creating and selling these crafts, the quality of life in these formerly impoverished, indigenous communities has be dramatically changed for the better in a truly profound way."
